This year Mother's day was most memorable, not because it was my first mother's Day as a mother but because of the monsoon rains and crazy floods that have been plaguing my corner of the universe.
I spent the day with Winter and my Mom, who bravely drove through puddles the size of small ponds. We had a late lunch at a restaurant near my house. Winter wrecked her pretty peach outfit, only her cute hat survived. So somewhere between the broccoli soup and the cheese cake I went to the ladies room to change her out of everything. She kept smiling at me like she was having the time of her life.
I spent the rest of my day shoving the clean laundry I brought back from my mom's house into any place it would fit. Then I wasting my night away on the Internet until about 3 Am when Dan called to inform me that he and his band and his tour mates, Keen of the Crow, would be arriving in the morning. At which point I panicked about getting the house cleaned in time. Needless to say it didn't get cleaned in time. However, enjoying my holiday was more important then a clean house any ways.
