I feel I haven’t done a post about my actual life in a long time. My school of though basically is that my life is too mundane to actually post about on a regular basis. The funny thing is that it’s actually been rather busy this past month and probably worthy of documentation. I’ve just been kind of lazy in actually posting it.
To start with, I was really focused on fan fiction in the beginning of the month. I haven’t been like that in a good long while. I definitely missed it. I’ve decided to hold back though. Stop with the stand alones and focus on the one big fic I really want to do. And anyone that is interested in knowing: I’ve scrapped the prologue cause I figured it would be more interesting to reveal details later and generally it slowed the actual story down. Not a good thing to do at the start. I’m hoping to post the first two chapters soon. It will probably be the next thing I post on this journal. It actually would have been up sooner but the two weeks have been composed of a great number of real life drama going on.
It all started last Thursday with the planning of this party for a volunteer that works for our department. She’s turning 90-years-old and threw her a party. The party was supposed to be planned over two weeks but due to some committee members being MIA, we had to hastily throw the whole thing together Thursday so that we could have the party on Friday. I honestly think we did a good job considering the trip ups and Evelyn really liked her party.
I felt a personal sense of accomplishment because I baked for it and this time-unlike the cookies I tired to bake last year-things turned out well and edible. I probably wouldn’t make them again though. I don’t like orange flavored anything very much.
That was all really extra stuff outside of the normal work duties though which included me volunteering to take another case because I am just that nice and seem to enjoy giving myself extra work for no damn reason. I also have been working with a family for the past two weeks trying to keep a dementia patient open to county assistance. In the end, we got the paperwork in but she was closed because her caregiver forgot to sign a portion of the form! At least the verification was fine. I am going to work in reopening her.
And now we’re at a week till Christmas eve and I have not sent out my Christmas cards yet and did not complete all of my shopping though what I do have to get are very small things. Perhaps I can still accomplish Christmas. ::crosses fingers::
Going out tonight with my boyfriend and tomorrow night my friend Kristen wants to go and do something. I’m trying to find a club or something we can go to. Looking forward to the 21st because I’m using my remaining vacation days! I can’t wait to sleep in and just completely forget about everything for a couple of days.
