Dinner Date

I finished this large commission Diptych a while ago, and didn't post about it because I thought I had sent it off to it's new home without taking any photos...but then I found this one in my camera while downloading pics of another new piece.

Its a pretty funky photo, I'm afraid, with a LOT of the details washed out. These were framed in two separate frames, and designed to be hung about 6"-8" apart. Its a silk paper collage, with each half of the diptych being 18"x40" (so 40"x36" total size). The antlers are made of curly maple wood inlay and the trees in the background are local birch bark. Uncurling birch bark and gluing it down flat is a project and a half, but I think (after fighting with it tooth and nail on THIS piece) I have the process figured out now!
