Christmas Ornaments

A really fun side-line that I do during  Christmas season is hand-painted glass ornaments. They allow me to offer a smaller, less expensive item in my booth, plus they do wonders for my drawing skills.I think of it as a sort of yearly "drawing bootcamp"...no erasing possible, plus the added challenge of working on a sphere

Every time sketchfest comes around I think: "Hey, I should do ornaments for this!" Then, inevitably, I look at my pile of deadline work and wind up not having the time. Someday...

Oh, that's a brilliant idea!! I don't know if I have the painting skillz to pull it off, but would you might if I tried it?

Not at all! I'm trying to talk Sholio into an ornament-painting get- together this week while she's down here..I wish we were all in the same town! I use a combination of sharpies and oil-based paint pens (far,far easier than brushes!), and I only use matte finished ornaments since it holds the ink better than the shiny. Let me know how it gos!

Those ornaments are soooo gorgeous! And yes, I am definitely interested - I think it sounds delightful! Would it be a problem if my mom comes along? She's an artist as well - amateur/hobbyist, thinking about trying to go pro; she wants to see your art!

I'm driving down on Monday and I'll be down for at least a week. The only day I know I can't do is Tuesday. But any other point during the week would be fine, I think.

Tuesday sounds good. Sure,Bring your Mom! I wish I could leave the Open House all set up..but my poor dogs desperately want their house back the way it belongs, and I need access to all the areas we blocked off with moved furniture (like the laundry room, for instance!) Ill leave a few pieces of art up here to show off though, along with the remaining ornaments. Let me know if you need a map to find me, I can email you a link to the one we used for the show.

Tuesday is the one day I can't! Um, how about Thursday? That'll give my family time to get whatever urgently pressing activities they have in mind out of the way. ;p As nice as it would be to see the open house intact, I totally understand about needing the house back! I hope it's been going well for you.

It's all cool. :) I'm in Wasilla right now, but schedule-wise, I'm kind of at the mercy of family. Sadly I still don't have a cell phone, either. Lemma PM you my contact info, and we can work out something ...
