Ugh, Fail-con
Momocon=fail. This will be my last Momocon as I didn't enjoy myself at all except for a few brief minutes here and there.
My Rinoa turned out better than expected. We didn't get any pictures of it so once the weather clears Steve's gonna do a mini photoshoot for me and get some good pictures. It was such a comfy costume and I got some great compliments on it, which surprised me.
First, we spent nearly 3 hours in the damn registration line doing nothing but whining and walking around the entire student center in a massive line.
It's dreary and rainy today. We took NO PICTURES at Momocon. None at all. I saw Rosa, Monika and Christy for but a few minutes here and there and that was it! There were no costumes that really caught my eye (other than the ones my girls were wearinG!). They all were store bought messes or had little to no effort put behind them. I saw a very small handful of good ones, but it was way too busy to get photos of anyone.
We got to see rosa_bella briefly while waiting in line. I saw her again later in her Yoko (which looked AMAZING! You're nuts for wearing that on such a cold, rainy day!!), but couldn't talk cause I had mine and Steve's badge and couldn't find Steve. That was a disaster, but at least they let me get his badge since I used my military ID and his name is on it as well. The guy who helped me was very sweet and didn't seem to mind. That was a silver lining for the day.
So then we went to the Dealer's room and found NOTHING! We then went to all the other smaller Dealer's rooms and also found nothing. Had some good conversations with the people selling their wares, but that was it. So we went to eat and, again, at at the yummy Japanese place in the cafeteria. I looove their sesame chicken.
So then we went into the Artist's Alley and both found some prints we wanted. I found a super amazing one of Lightning and Steve found one of Fran. So today we're gonna go buy some frames and hand all our stuff in the sewing room. Oh and finally buy frames for the Dragon*Con photos.
This con is a lost cause if they keep this up. It was entirely too over-crowded. The space is too small for the amount of people that were there. It was a disaster! You couldn't talk to your friends, you couldn't find anyone, there were too many people...ugh, I was annoyed.
So no more Momo until I finally hear a good review of the con.
At 5 we left the con (yes, other than the line we spent 2 hours at Momo) and headed off to hang out with vampirate777 and micarei and friends. It was soooo much fun.
We tried to get into the World of Coke to mee them, but that was a fail because they wouldn't let us into the parking lot. So we just drove to micarei's place and met them there. We hung out with them (Mary, Ashley, Silas, Daniel and John) for a bit. Playing Street Fighter IV and relaxing after such a crappy con. I need to visit Mary again cause she's oh-so wonderfully said yes to comissining my Aqua corset. I cannot make one. I tried and I failed. So yay! We need to coordinate days off when I don't have class to start this.
After a couple hours we went to Mer and Matt's place, which was wayyyy out there despite Matt's protesting. lol. It was too much fun though and we all had a good time. I got to see katelovespink and the infamous Cliff. They were all at Momocon, too, but we didn't see them. Lucky for Cliff he won't remember any of his shenanagins at Momocon. lol. We at yummy food, hung out, battled cheesy 90's pop, r&b, and horribly "Mexican" music to the Mexicans who lived up the road who were having a massive gathering and playing LOUD annoying music. It was great. We watched some Batman, more Street Fighter IV, and other fun stuff going on.
Mostly we talked about the horrible-ness of Momocon, future cons and costumes and drama. Steve had a good time, too, which made me happy. We had a long drive back to Fort Benning so we left at 11-ish. Got home at 2am and promptly went to sleep. I just woke up at 10. Ugh.
It was a decent enough time. Hanging out after Momocon made the day a whole lot better!! It was so good seeing everybody and we MUST do this again real soon.
