actually, thinking about it more, i'm really glad the assignment *didn't* call for wings.
because if this image engendered a huge crazy winged-cat buying mob clammoring for it... it'd drive me nuts because i'm not licensed to sell prints of it.
so thankfully, when people come up to me at shows and ask "do you have any paintings of cats?" i can show them this one, and they'll just mumble "oh, no wings..." and wander off.

maybe i'll become "the loot card mount guy".

Its a shame really. Such lovely animals, they are.

i do wonder if the crazy winged-cat buying crowd would also buy big badass cats like these, if they had wings...
maybe Scot's joke will actually lead to big piles of cash! (for doing work that's only 1/4-pandering, and that won't make me entirely ill...)

I'm sure it'd sell. I still don't think I support the idea.

I'll drop you a line soon and we'll make plans to go grab beers.
And you aren't paying for the prints, you goof. I already told you that!

Cats with wings is a pretty huge staple of convention art sales. It's kind of a running joke, which is why I posted the comment in the first place.
