I found an interesting original fic to read--it's fantasy set in a D&D like magical alternate universe. So far it's got 242 chapters. I like the characters in it for the most part. Although this isn't likely to a genre that will appeal to anyone but gamers, I happened up it by way of my Harry Potter fanfic binge, when I came across a few mediocre "Harry realizes he's in a game and has to level up" (game stats and screens that only he can perceive included) while negotiating the events of the books. It's so complex that a dedicated fan created a graphic to guide a new reader (or a confused reader like me who started multiple sub-series out of order, and missed some short stories and novels).
