still too hot in Seattle

It was hovering near 90 today, 49% humidity, miserable if you had to be out in it or doing anything with energy.

I did yard work yesterday, and today I was still dragging, so I took it easy. I read most of the day, going through all my Runaways trades from the beginning. I want to pick up vols. 9 and 10 and catch up. I dig the plots, and the guest appearances by other caped folk make me smile even if they are usually portrayed as "adults who don't get the needs of poor, misunderstood kids".

By the way, my fave covers are by Jo Chen. Link to more on her work:

Next on my to-read list: some Death Note manga I picked up used a few weeks ago:

I forgot my phone at work on Friday, and didn't feel like driving in the heat to pick it up. It's weird to be phoneless so long. I had e-mail, but since the people who call me are not the people who e-mail me, I was left feeling like I was half connected to the world.

I arranged for my house cleaner to come during Vividcon to feed my cat. Yay!! I was worried at what I could do about him, since he hates everyone but me and my second mother, and she'll be out of town.

Also, turns out it's my turn to drive the crack van for Bandom this month. Anyone got great new stories (no WIPs)? I am sure I've missed many while work and then reboot Trek distracted me.
