Sports Night Rec: Like Sailing and Home Runs by Annie (NC-17)

Long and good: two excellent traits of any story. The fact that it's SN? Even better. Danny is in character in this, neurotic but likeable and not excessively angsty, and Casey is such a sweetheart that I could squeeze him to bits.

This is a serious story, probably the best one I've read dealing with such serious themes: family problems, self-esteem, facing yourself, healing, overcoming fear, and realizing you're in love with your best friend. It's about learning to take a chance on something big, and having some hope that things will work out. So, while a story told in scenes with Danny and his shrink isn't a light-hearted slash romp, it's real, and full of feelings and truths about life and the human condition.
