Hello, everyone!

How have you been? I am finally over that flu and nagging cough, although my allergies are pretty horrendous at this time. Yay for spring, though.

What's up mediawise for you all? Looking forward to Penny Dreadful S2. I've been watching and older detective series called Life with my second mother (in season 2 now, and digging Damian Lewis as this character), and have been downloading series 2 of Broadchurch for her. I started using Popcorn Time to watch The 100 and am about halfway through season 1. It's cheesy sci-fi, but some nights I want something not too intense.

Other things in my media backlog: Gotham, The Flash, and Green Arrow. Also have two seasons of Hannibal to watch thanks to J. *hugs*

Stuff consumed recently:
  • Z Nation season 1: Surprisingly addictive show about a road trip across the country during the zombie apocalypse.
  • The Maze Runner: This was OK. I feel it glossed over some of the Lord of the Flies aspects of this society of young men and only one girl was in the cast of youth. But it has Dylan O'Brien so I wanted to see it. I'll watch The Scorch Trials sequel when it comes out.
  • Sue Grafton's Alphabet series: I re-read this series while I was ill, along with her short story collection. Pre-Internet detecting all the way...
  • Seanan McGuire's October Daye series: I really enjoyed all eight of the books so far in this urban fantasy series. (I'll check out her InCryptid series soon.) To download the free stories in this series, visit the October Daye Short Fiction page: http://seananmcguire.com/tobyshorts.php.

Work has been crazy lately since we only have 3 months left of the fiscal year and we just had another reorg. :P I got handed a couple of projects to own, one of which has not started and they want it done ASAP. My second mother had a clean 6-month checkup for her breast cancer, but my vanpool driver gets a lumpectomy in April so I am going to have to step up to drive the van half time.
