J2 (SPN RPS) Rec: Kisses Sweeter Than Wine by t_fic (topaz) (Adult)
A day late on this one--I fell asleep on the couch yesterday at 6 PM and didn't wake up until the wee hours. I needed the sleep, I guess. Anyway, here's the last of the 31 recs I had for you in May. Enjoy!

What I love about J2 is all the alternate universe/alternate reality stories that change actor RPS into what is essentially original fiction cast with the actors, based very loosely on their public personas. The writers in this fandom are inventive in their wide-ranging world building, and this story is a great example of that type of RPS AU/AR.
This story is serious food porn; I was drooling over the food descriptions and had to stop twice for snacks while reading the 35,300-word story. For a foodie like me, romance + cooking = lurve.
Sometimes in J2 there can be overdone angst over acceptance of sexual orientation to add dramatic tension, but Topaz doesn't do that here, so the plot focus is the realistic issues of bad past experiences, poor communication, and trust.
