what a week.
My parents came back from Rügen yesterday - they finally made some holidays on their own. My Dad usually never goes anywhere because of his two horses. Of course there are people who could take care of them, but he does not trust them very much. But as my parents just had 30th wedding anniversary he finally gave up, so my sister took care of the horses for a week.
I really thought I could live all alone and would not need anybody by my side. I mean, I have my own flat and therefore I hardly see my parents, but this week it was just silent in our house... it was really weird. I missed my partents and our little dachshund a lot. My sister felt the same, so she came over every evening. Oh well. ^^;
So, yesterday we (sister Jay and me) prepared a barbeque as the weather was quite good. I also made a cake which tasted good (usually my cakes are like stones >_<). Neither my sister nor me are good at cooking, so my parents were really surprised when we managed to create a lot of tasty things. (But my kitchen is a glorious mess right now.)
On Thursday I had to talk to my department leader. Not because there was a certain reason, but at least once a year we are ordered to talk about everything we like, everything we don't like - and what we think of each other. Means, I had a chance to say what really pissed me off recently, and believe me, I took this chance. Astrid (my dep. leader) is good and she's doing a great job, just the working conditions are really bad. So I was talking a lot. ^^; When she asked me "But you like your job, don't you?" "Ah... do I give that impression?" "Yes." "Sorry, I don't like my job. I'm thinking about moving to Australia in order to become a sheperd." she almost fell off her chair. ^^; She wanted me to be honest, so why should I lie?
Of course she also had the chance to tell me what was wrong with my work... but she didn't have anything to criticize. It was quite the contrary. She said "your files are all organized and well thought-out, you help colleagues whenever you can and you're not dumb. I have nothing else to say." Well, that felt good. ;)
