Can this Last?
I see it in your eyes
See that you want me
See that you long to hold me
To kiss me
Why do I mean so much to you?
You’ve seen it all
And yet you look only at me
Spend your days watching
Your eyes never wandering
What makes me so special?
We’ve been through so much
Seen and done so much
But your eyes remain the same
Stay fixed on mine
Why do you stay with me?
If I were to let you in
To let my guard down
And hold you close
Feel your heart beat against my chest
Will you be there when it’s over?
And if I were to love you
To hold you in my arms
And kiss you
Will you stay with me?
Or be called away?
I could not bear to loose you
To have you taken from me
To have this love devoured
I need to know
Can this last?
