Somehow LJ got bumped a little on the priority list with the advent of a new baby, a move to a military base, and a three week vacation, not to mention 9 different houseguests who each stayed for at least a week.
The visits were my folks (1 wk), my mother-in-law (1 wk), a two week break, my mom (1.5 wks) my older sister (1 wk) and my friend
zehera (2 wks).
Then another 2 weeks break, a move to a military base [into a brand new 4 BD, 2.5 BTH house with a backyard and a garage !], a bad case of the flu (4 days).
Then there was 3 week vacation, which involved a flight to Portland, OR to see my family & friends; a 3 hr drive to Hermiston, OR to see Spouse's family; a 1 hr drive to Milton-Freewater, OR to see Spouse's extended family; then back to Portland for a day; then yet another three hour drive to Silverdale, WA, to see some college friends and our third Godson. Finally, back to Portland for some packing up and a flight home.
The trip included four professional photo sessions with various relative groupings, two plane rides with a stroller, carseat, 3 month old, diaper bag & carry-on, two birthday parties, an open house, two different church reunions, several informal brainstorming sessions on new products for the organizational business I'm getting ready to start, and a partridge in a pear tree.
Also, Sprog learned to roll over, sleep through the night, and laugh out loud. Now that we're home, we're hosting our final houseguest, a good friend of mine and her eight month old baby, and battling the remains of Sprog's first cold, which has finally infected her father and I as well. And did I mention that we didn't get a chance to fully unpack yet, and the new product for my business has also arrived and needs work?
[Deep breath]
Having said all that, as impossible as it sounds, I wouldn't change it. I have been blessed so many times in so many ways over the last few months. I love and enjoy my Spouse, our friends, our relatives, even my in-laws, and am absolutely in love with my Sprog and staying home with her.
Our new house is fantastic, and Spouse just received word that he is going to be promoted (#20 out of a class of 300, and in record time, too!) God has continued to supply all of my needs, and probably more of my wants than any one woman deserves. I've made several fantastic friends on base, and just today planned a reuniting of my woman's bible study group that was on summer hiatus.
I'm excited about the possibilities (and flexibility) that restarting my business will offer, and enjoying every second of bonding with my various houseguests. My friend down now has helped me accomplish some unpacking goals and helped me childproof, with lots of advice and information on starting solids and how to handle this first cold which was invaluable. Our friends in Grass Valley found the employment they were searching for, and Spouse's work trip to FL was a success.
In short, my throat is sore, my head is congested, my house is in boxes, my budget is tight and my life is fantastic.
My Spouse brought flowers, my daughter gives cuddles, and my cup overflows.
Various pictures will be up when I get another moment, probably a week or so.
