Our annual pilgrimage to Fenway

Sep 24, 2007 22:25

During our trip to Boston, Bob and I made our third annual pilgrimage to Fenway Park. We were treated to a walkoff home run by David Ortiz, and we are now 3 for 3 in wins during latter-day games attended. Better still, the Red Sox have clinched a postseason berth, so we can now rule out that our visits have jinxed them. ;-)

This year, we were lucky enough to snag seats in Fenway's new EMC club, right above home plate:

This gave us access to a private restaurant, where Red Sox prez Larry Lucchino managed to land right at the next table. Here's a pic of Bob, which happened by complete (un)coincidence to capture Larry (in the coral shirt):

While at the club, we were shocked to see that the real, actual, bona fide 2004 World Series trophy was in residence. Here I am next to it, happily dazed:

It was a Red Sox fan's version of heaven.

I will now proceed to look for my life where I last left it.
