Retro Spec Deadline: 8 December 2009
The deadline for submissions to Retro Spec: Tales of Fantasy and Nostalgia is 8 December 2009, two weeks from now. I've got a lot of good stuff on hold at this point, so I've chosen a date that I hope will give adequate notice to those still working on submissions, while at the same time making sure that those submissions will have a shot at a slot in the anthology.
Most submitters wrote to the 2000-word limit for new work, and I have some even longer reprints, so there will be fewer slots available than there were for Cinema Spec. This means, though, that my head could still be turned by a good piece of actual FLASH fiction. Also, as befits the theme of the anthology, most of the stories and poems take place on 20th century Earth (or equivalent), so any deviation from that norm, say, a high fantasy, would also stand out.
