Tracking on a Sunday
Well, I went out today tracking with my oldest daughter (8 years old) and we had a great day of tracking. We tracked people, dogs, hares, and small rodents. But the biggest excitement was the deer. I have read that animal tracks are like a string with you at one end and the animal at the other...as you track you just go further along hte string. Well today my daughter and I tracked a doe for quiet a while...a few km's anyway and we came over a rise and there was the deer we were tracking. We were so close we could hear it snorting. it was very exciting and fulfilling. After taht we back tracked a coyote for a while trying to find its den. We were unsuccessful in that, but it was a merry chase.
