okay...so I thought I'd change my winamp skin....so..I go to the site and start downloading some of the pre-made ones...okay...so far so good...only problem being...HOW THE HELL DO YOU GET THEM TO SHOW!!!XO I think I've put them in the wrong fold when I downloaded them or something, cause NONE of them are showing up on my skins list when I go to

Setting skins and all that jazz

Well, any skins you want to have show up in the list need to be in your designated skins folder. The default is going to be something like C:/Program Files/Winamp/Skins. You can find out which directory your program is pointing to by going to the Winamp Preferences window and checking under the Skins tab. In that menu area, you'll have a "set skins directory" button, and if you click on that it will show you what directory it currently points to.

Anyway, there are two solutions to the problem, depending on how you want to work things. If there aren't any skins beyond the base one in the directory currently being pointed to, just change the directory the program looks at with the "set skins directory" menu.

Your other option is to move the skins you downloaded to the current directory your Winamp program is pointing to.

I had problems with the same thing, you're not alone, haha. ^^;;;

You have to save your skins to the folder C:\Progam Files\Winamp\Skins
The "Winamp" folder might have a different name, like since I have version 3, mine is "C:\Progam Files\Winamp3\Skins". But it should be something along those lines. Good luck!

yea...I did that...but I noticed when I downloaded the files, they're some weird type of file that I've never heard of...that...and their small filesT_O

Since I've never done this before, it's all new to me XP

But yea...when I got to select them, they don't even show up in the skins directory to select them.T_O;..tis all QUITE odd>,

SZ....whatever type that isT_O;...am assuming it's some sort of skins related program fileT_O;

.wsz is the other file exention (besides .zip) that Winamp recognizes for skins. The two types are essentially the same thing. I think the extension stands for something like 'winamp skin zip' but I could be mistaken.

OK, so when DO your loyal fans get some kind of info about the....big exiting thing that happened finaly? Soonish, I hope? you said some...people liked some things earlier, right? cant we get at least some tenative info?
