This place is where I go when my Id needs a place to unload. I have started methodically deleting my past posts because they are so intensely personal. Some nights I just close my eyes and type, knowing that only one or two people give even 1/2 a shit, and both of them are cool.
It's my Midian. Of course, I could just type to myself. I could just type into the void. But there is a satisfaction gained by some sort of audience, however small. Actually, I find it augmented when it's small. Intimate.
I think the LJ concept and community was 100x more vibrant and alive than what has replaced it. I can't argue with 1,000,000 Elvis Fans, but a little is lost when you move to the lowest common denominator.
You didn't ask for all this typing when you brushed the dust off from this two year old relic.
Too bad.
I carry with me all of the memories of this slice of space and time. I remember you at my birthday/housewarming party with people sitting on my roof, I remember Christmas at Tiki's and Flanagan's and more.
I remember a yellow building on Conti, and I remember running fast and strong, looking out of the corner of my eye and wondering who I would see.
That's the sort of thing I say on LJ on a Friday night.
