Student Teaching!
It's October?? lyk WTF? Where did September go???
After months of waiting, I finally received my Student Teaching placement letter today. Hand-delivered to me by the Office of Secondary Education DURING my Art Methods class.
I was painting and this woman came in asking for me. She had some paperwork in her hand and asked to pull me aside. I was about to pee myself becuase I thought for sure that she was going to tell me that I couldn't be placed until 2010. But she just smiled and said "Congratulations, we finally got your placement!!"
I was nervous to see where the placement was, thinking I would have to move to Lander or Riverton or Cody. But....I got placed in Cheyenne!! It's not ideal becuase I'll be away from my husband, but it's a HUGE answered prayer.
I am way relieved that I have a placement at all, let alone one where I don't have to shell out for rent. I asked if I could stay with my parents for a while, and of course they'll let me. So it's going to be good.
It's a huge weight lifted off of my shoulders. Since you can't student teach in a school that you've attended, I'm actually going to be student teaching at my high school's cross-town rival, East. O.o But it will be fine. And my elementary placement is at Hebard, a school that I haven't even heard of. But their mascot's the Huskies, so how bad could it be?
I'm just really happy and had to tell everyone.
