I went in to donate blood today. I wanted to do a double-red-cell donation, since that way, I wouldn't be donating again till November, but that wasn't on.
The phlebotomist I drew was in the middle of preparing my arm when she suddenly went away to deal with another donor...leaving me there with my arm at full extent, cramping, and getting annoyed (the other donor could have waited a few minutes IMO; and I've done enough of these to have some reason to believe that I know) and when she finally got back to me, she couldn't find the damn vein for love-nor-money.
She called another phlebotomist, which I do not like to see happening...at a blood donation, as far as I am concerned, a boring, dull experience is infinitely preferable to excitement. The other phlebotomist couldn't find the vein either, but when she tried the other arm, there it was and after that, the donation went swimmingly.
Now I'm up to 9 1/4 gallons. Unless I miss an appointment, this time next year I should be passing the ten-gallon mark.
