None the less the writing of this was beautiful. I think you may have switched into third person once,
"Hey,” I said finally. “I’m good. Can you put me down?” Ichigo was, in fact, staring closely at him, face only about a foot away from Kon’s.
Ichigo stared for a second longer, then shrugged and dropped Kon on the bed none-too-gently. “Whatever,” he said. “Whatever""
Maybe this was a stylistic thing but if it was I don't think it quite worked.
Other than that the writing was loverly, as usual. A really interesting concept, I liked Kon's thought as to having no family, to being alone, and Rukia's way of breaking the news to him was very well thought out. I also liked the way you discribe Kon relishing his senses, and what he does when Ichigo isn't around. His saddness at never having some of the things Ichigo has.
All in all this was pretty darn good, I really enjoyed it.
(And I've an idea for the AnswerFic as well...)
BTW, are you/have you watched the Bount Arc in Bleach?
