who needs depth perception, anyway

Got new lenses in my glasses. Crazy. Now I can see enormous (to me, anyway) distances with perfect clarity, but if I look at anything within about 6 to 8 feet, it looks too close or bulges funnily. I think my prescription may have swung a little too far to the near-sighted end of the spectrum.

Am all headachey now. Wah.

Bandolier & bells almost done; made a satchel of sorts that matches the costume so I won't have to ruin the look with a backpack; also made a belt, and am working out the logistics of some pouches to hang from it -- for money, con schedule, emergency repair needle & thread, props (The Book of the Dead, compass, a real bell, etc). Still have to figure out what to do about a sword. I have Sting from LotR; maybe I can wrap its hilt and the "scabbard" it came in to make it look at least vaguely in the realm of Sabriel's sword. Or, if that's too much trouble, just get a dagger. And I'm working on a Lesser Dead costume that I can pin onto anyone I can convince to partner with me -- huge swath of black fabric, aesthetically shredded, with bits of mottled red satin sewn underneath to flash through the rips and (hopefully) look like fire or blood. Not very complex or detailed, but good on short notice. More theatrical than realistic.

I still have to start stamping keys on my surcoat. *cries*
