dragoncon pics!

Woot! DragonCon site's finally got the 2004 photo galleries up. Thought y'all might get a kick out of my Vash costume... you know, to point and laugh at at your leisure. Nah, j/k. I'm really proud of my Vash costume. It's not perfect, but hey, it wasn't easy either.

Parade Angle 1
I'm towards the front of the line, just behind Kenshin and Homestar. You can see the belted-up arm (though not well). The girl next to me in a black tank top with cat-ears is terioncalling, cosplaying as Kuroneko. ^_^. Robbie's right between us as Wolfwood, but he kinda vanishes at this angle... o_O. You can see one crosspiece of the Punisher sticking out from behind terion's shoulder, though. There's also a Meryl-&-Sango (Inuyasha) pair a couple rows behind us. That Meryl was really well-done.

Parade Angle 2
And yes, there's me right behind the sign. Red-headed Vash in glasses. I couldn't get a wig to work, and I can't bleach my hair as it would never recover from the trauma (and it's evil enough as it is). In retrospect I can see that the collar really needed some paper sewn in for support -- it's so floppy you can't even see it. Oh well. Lastly, look two heads over from me -- the guy in sunglasses is Robbie aka Wolfwood. Wish there was a good shot of the Punisher (that thing took foreeeever to build), but no. Le sigh.

Someday I'll get my own pics up on my site so you can actually see the details. I just thought it was cool to see our costumes in the con environment. ^_^.

Skimming through the Masquerade pictures gave me all sorts of crazy costuming inspiration. If my Sabriel costume works out and I can get my nerve up enough, I'm thinking about entering the Masquerade this year. This'll be my third year at con, so I really can't plead newbie status anymore. And I thought our little Trigun group stood up pretty well against the overall quality of the anime costumes last year. So... I dunno. I could do it, I really could. I'm planning on putting so much work and detail into this Sabriel costume... building my own props and maybe buying a new sword and everything. Wish I wasn't so terrified of stages. But it's not like I'd have to do anything... *grr, headdesking in frustration*

Anyway, will shut up now. Gonna post that little FMA ficlet on FF.N and call it a night.
