I think this best explains why I will be bowing out of the club scene, except for the shows and artists I care to support. His most recent blog post explains it best for me.

As far as the club "scene" goes, I'm pushing 30. I just bought my first home. For the $$ it takes for me to drive out to Norfolk or Richmond, get in the door, drinks and what not, I'm looking at spending $80-$100. I don't have that to spend on going out anymore. At this point it's about keeping the bills paid, lights and heat on, food on the table, ect.
On top of that, it's just not fun anymore. It used to be about "let's go out, dance, listen to our music, be with other people, ect". Now it's a bunch of people, looking down their noses at each other and acting catty. I'm too old for this. I'd rather put my efforts, time and money into my new home.
I started saving for this home last spring. I didn't go out. I didn't buy anything that wasn't a nessicity. Minor sacrifices. Then, my uncle died. Turns out he left me $350,000. This home is important to me because it's part of a family member, a legacy, if you will. You can be as apathetic as you want, but without family (and I use that term loosely) you are nothing. My family and friends mean more to me than some bunch of catty snobs at a club.
Besides, It's cheaper to be down at the PINTS AND PIPES!

I will still be doing the southeast HIM street team. Most of my street team stuff is packed away, but It will be out soon as I move. I'll also be better organized because I will have my own office! Yea!
