Yuletide story posted! I re-edited the thing about a dozen times at the end and I still think there may be some stray commas loose in there, but I think I need to let it go.

EDIT: A round of pre-emptive thank-yous and thank-yous for thank-yous. I'll be away from the Internet until early next week.
