The last of my Yuletide recs. I was going to wait until I'd rounded up a few more, but if I don't post these now I'm going to forget about them, and they do not deserve to be forgot.
"Silent Night" - A look at "From The Mixed-Up Files of Mrs Basil E Frankweiler" from the POV of the family Jamie and Claudia left behind. I love finding stories for old fandoms I knew as a kid, and this is lovely nostalgia with a bittersweet twist.
"Diamond Anniversary" - "Near Dark" is the world of vampires on the opposite end of the spectrum from the "Twilight" kids. This little family of bloodsuckers is gritty, rugged, and brutal. And when they celebrate, they leave horror and destruction in their wake.
"Puppet Strings and Wooden Things" - I wasn't really sold on the anime "Ergo Proxy." I appreciated what it was trying to do, but I never thought it got deep enough into its characters. This story neatly remedies that in the case of one little robot-autoreiv girl, Pino.
"Never give up, never surrender - to the power of love?" - And because it just tickled me to death, an ad for a fake "Galaxy Quest" fansite. With slash fanfic excerpts!
