The workday went okay at home. No computer problems. Yay.
I do need to learn how to communicate with my coworkers when I am remote. They are not used to dealing with someone remote so when I ask questions they hesitate to respond. student loan costs prevented me from getting a full accreditation
i took graphic training on the job so i could learn while i earn
and pay my outstanding loans off, i did get an adult training certification
to teach what i knew, which i have a technical drawing and painting certificate
i didn't want to teach sales since i was burnt out from that, but the job i got was a dream job
i learned computer graphics while designing and building flash second language lessons for kids to K9
so i got to learn on the job, and the project got funding to offset my learning curve against production output
eventually i learned how to beat the computer and hated every minute of it, and as you see in many of my posts
still do until today, hate the ever changing playing field of internet technology both hardware and software changes
every stupid upgrade forced yet another learning curve to learn how to obey the robot programming we are subjected to
i loved those days on the language project, it was everything i was interested in, and allowed me to use my creativity in new ways
i hated watching YT tutorials for computer how to, troubleshooting and new products. i was happiest drawing images we used in lessons
i learned to do sound recording, and sound editing and 2D animation using flash and photo images, and still do to this day.
i have a 2003 mini mac with old flash and photoshop software, with only 1 GB ram that can't even run today's modern browsers
20 years ago, the internet was still humanly relatable and we spoke of ergonomics, ie. fitting the computer to human needs
now they want us round pegs to fit into their square holes. it's all back asswards imho. likely that's what you are facing
starting from scratch with every project maybe using or excel spreadsheets or word or quickbooks and acrobat
and they move something in the menu or change how the feature works and it's back to square one, ie.
wtf is it? where's my widget? computers are evil, regardless of the amount of data they can process
i think in the big picture they are perfectly useless, except for one thing - steve jobs itech
he foresaw a smartphone being a music player/recorder, camera/photo storage,
text communication, phone, browser, marketing, payment, banking
typewriter, accounting ledger, graphic design all in one device
done right that can clean up a lot of waste and create
more efficiency to cause even more unemployment
and free up more time for social networking
or in our case journaling. when you say
cannot train yourself, what do you mean?

There are monthly reports that the bookkeeper is supposed to do...That's me. The reports are all spread sheets and you pull the data to enter from many many statements and reports. I have a set of crappy notes that the boss paid someone $500 to write, but they are are just scraps of info...like what you would write down just as a footnote...not training a newbie. Ian example is a tax report where I go to 7 different monthly statements to pull data, but I can't figure out what statement provides what detail because there are 12 of them and each is 15 pages long so I spend time hunting for things instead of being told what goes where. The boss has flown through some of the reports when she is in but wants to go FAST because she wants to leave...so she is not teaching me anything and does not know how to answer any questions. She also listens to music and sings during this "training" Tomorrow she is back from another vacation ... she has had 5 vacations since February... I want her to sit at my desk and I will pull up reports and she should just talk and tell me... I do not want her typing and just filling in things. She is only in the office once a week so I want her to use Zoom so we can talk 3 times a week when she works from home. I need structure here. Once get understand each report I can pretty much do everything from my house except cut checks... and I don't even know why we still pay bills with checks.

tell them the info is incomplete and it forces you to guess and play detective
when it could be much simpler if they just were more specific
ask them where and how to find the connections,
what do i know. i'm no accountant.
yes, they need to show you where things are, so you're not left guessing
checks are antiques, some people are still attached to them
for sentimental reasons. they make you feel like you still have control
over the liquid money system
that said, they are evidence that the exchange was a physical transaction
i still want to talk to a bank clerk when i do banking
at least there's somebody else to blame ))
i don't trust computer systems
i'm old school, i guess
instead of crappy notes
you could request they be works of art ))
that would fix 'em
