The two had always been a little awkward around each other. It wasn’t that they had any great dislike toward one another; they just didn’t share many common interests apart from music.

They spent their days in rehearsal as the entire group did, but after work was finished KangIn liked to wind down with more exercise, as if dancing all day hadn’t been enough. He’d go in for some martial arts training, or go to the pool for a swim. Then he’d come home and watch movies, or practice his part for a role, or review his notes for the radio.

While KangIn took a more active role, RyeoWook kept singing and composing once he’d gotten home from work. His entire life was music, and he was alright with that, and he didn’t feel it posed a problem.

In reality, it hadn’t posed a problem that the two didn’t have any further commonalities until the big boss decided that everyone’s living arrangements needed to be changed in order for the company to exercise more control over what its artists were doing.

All the artists for the group had to move to the same dorm, and KangIn and RyeoWook ended up roommates.

After work the first day following the new living arrangements RyeoWook headed straight home and to his room to work on the song he’d been composing the past few weeks. KangIn, as usual headed to the pool.

When KangIn came home several hours later he popped a movie into the DVD player and sat down to relax. The volume on the TV was so loud that RyeoWook couldn’t hear himself singing, so he went to KangIn’s room and politely asked him to turn down the volume.

This only earned RyeoWook an angry glare from KangIn and a pillow thrown at his head with great force. RyeoWook ducked and ran off to his room, and after a few minutes, KangIn did turn down the volume.

Night after night the same thing happened. KangIn came home from wherever and popped in a movie, turning the volume up far too loudly and causing RyeoWook to again come in and ask him to please turn it down. KangIn would glare and throw something, RyeoWook would return to his own room, and then the volume would go down.

Months passed by in this same manner and RyeoWook felt that KangIn surely must hate him. He grew so concerned in fact that he decided he would stop bothering KangIn with requests to turn down the TV.

That night when KangIn go home he followed his usual routine. He stayed up late waiting for RyeoWook to ask him to turn down the TV but the other boy never came. KangIn turned the volume up even louder, and still nothing. He stayed up far later than he should have, but nothing ever happened, and finally; KangIn went to sleep.

The next morning RyeoWook expected KangIn to be in a better mood but KangIn just glared daggers at him all day long.

It went on for weeks, and RyeoWook didn’t know what to do. KangIn was angry and violent with him when he asked him to turn down the volume, and looked like he wanted to kill him anyway when he didn’t ask for the sound to be turned down.

RyeoWook couldn’t take it anymore, when KangIn came home that night and put in his DVD; RyeoWook immediately stormed into his room.

RyeoWook demanded to know what KangIn’s problem with him was and how he could solve it. He explained to KangIn that he didn’t want to live under the same roof with someone who hated him and he didn’t know what he’d done to deserve that hate.

When RyeoWook was finished with his tirade KangIn looked up at him tiredly and spoke. “I like your face.” He then tossed a pillow at RyeoWook to shoo him from the room and turned down the TV.
