I Haven't Lost My Touch

  • Sitting outside at a cafe eating breakfast, two guys drove by in a crappy car. The passenger's head swiveled so far around I was afraid his head would fall off.
  • Starting my Walk/jog/run at Sand Run, two guys passed me, smiled, and waved.
  • Walking to the Rock Hall with my sister and a friend, a convertible and two motorcycles drove past. Again with the neck swivel, and the motorcycles "said hello." Nevermind that both guys were sporting girls on the back.
  • Wandering around the Rock Hall, I looked up and saw a dad waving in my general direction. I looked up confused and waved back. Then I realized a mom was standing next to me, so I got her attention, and pointed to the waving dad. She shot me a very confused look and I asked, "Is he yours?" Amused, she shook her head no. About an hour or so later, we went out on the deck area to look at the water and saw him again. Blatant staring.
  • Leaving the Rock Hall, one of the guys manning the FEST table threw me a shirt. I flashed him my mega-watt smile and walked out the door.
  • Driving home, an Accord was keeping pace with me. We both passed a minivan and stayed next to each other until I looked over and smiled. He waved by and took off.

Now, I was in a skirt at the Rock Hall, but it was just a simple jean skirt with a tank and small heels. Nothing crazy or flashy. I was in grubby work-out clothes at Sand Run, and a tank and pants for breakfast. I told Clare and MG, "This is what happens when you go out with me. Get used to it."
