13 of My Favorite Beauty Products

  1. Chapstick. Medicated or Moisturizer. I can’t leave home without it.
  2. Proactiv. That stuff has saved me. I stopped using it for about 2 months. I wanted to try out other products to see if they worked better, and the results were disastrous. I got a new batch Saturday and I’m very happy.
  3. Coochy. Okay, yeah it sounds like a bedroom product, but it’s not. It’s a shaving cream made especially for the underarms and bikini area. I’m too much of a wuss to go get a wax down there, so I stick with my trusty razor. No red bumps!
  4. Dark red toe-nail polish. It’s almost a burgundy-red, with hints of gold. It has a nice sheen, and it’s perfect for year-round wear. I started wearing red toenail polish after I read The Pelican Brief. Darby always wore red, and I thought it was a great idea. I mix it up every now and then, incorporating pinks, blues, and purples, but I always come back to red.
  5. Body by Victoria. It’s probably my favorite perfume of all times. I’ve come across a few other ones that I like, but not enough to drop $60-$100 on. This perfume is perfect. Weird thing, though, I’m pretty sure my brother’s girlfriend wears it. I guess that shows she has good taste.
  6. 3 pink eye shadows by Lancôme. I wish I knew their names, so I could link them, but I love them. A light shade of iridescent pink, a hot pink, and a dark red/pink with some flecks of gold. The combination is amazing. SteelersBoy always comments on my eyes when I wear this combination, and that’s clearly a good sign.
  7. Also in the Lancôme family, Fatale. The applicator is a bit strange, and takes awhile to get used to, but my lashes always look much fuller than they are.
  8. Lip gloss. I have a pinkish lip gloss, and a brown one with “sparkles”. I don’t know how else to describe it. But I like the way they make my lips “pop” as they’d say on What Not to Wear. They’re a sure-fire thing to put on when I can’t find my chapstick.
  9. Hot pink/red lipstick. It’s impossible for me to describe this lipstick well, but it’s bright and lightens up my face. I was wary of it originally, as I always wore muted, darker lipsticks. But after wearing it for a couple months, I’ve fallen in love with it. I still have a darker, muted lipstick, in case it matches my outfit and mood better.
  10. Stress Relief Moisturizing Lotion by Aveeno. It’s probably the only scented lotion I can wear. All other scented lotions give me a headache. This lotion moisturizes without giving me a headache, and it doesn’t leave me feeling greasy.
  11. Dove’s Go Fresh Refresh Bodywash. Yes, this is relatively new, but it is amazing. You know the commercials where the woman feels all excited and tingly and refreshed after using the bodywash? That’s what really happens. It’s that good. I highly recommend it. It’ll vastly improve your shower experience.
  12. Lancôme’s eye makeup remover. (I swear I don’t work for them, but I love their products, and the gifts.) Most of their gift bags contain this in a little bottle, and that lasts me several months - probably because I don’t wear eye makeup everyday. But it gently removes eye shadow and mascara without causing eye damage. And it works!
  13. Purple eyeliner. I can’t wear it with every outfit, but it’s a different color and fun to experiment with.
