Like most Americans, and perhaps non-Americans but I have no way of knowing since I live here, I've been inundated with political coverage. In a little over a month, I won't turn on NPR and listen to coverage on speeches made by presidential hopefuls, and I can't wait. beth i loved this post....im in ypsilanti michigan registering voters at eastern michigan university and would love to see many of your suggestions implemented...although in the 70s the nominee for president was decided at democratic convention so it wasnt forever ago.

the conventions also separate the primary election from the general election in terms of funding. the nominees now must follow general election funding rules

did you know that only half of u.s. citizens know that obama is a christian??? 16% believe him to be muslim??? the ny times has some interesting op-eds about the election...i would check them out

Oh I miss you! When are you coming back here? We have so much catching up to do.

This election reinforced my opinions that politicians will say anything to get ahead. I don't expect them to know the answers to everything, nor do I expect them to agree with everything I think, but I do expect some common sense to be thrown into the mix. Telling me that you plan to fix the economy isn't gonna work for me. Newsflash: IT'S NOT YOUR JOB! Sorry, that's been building up for awhile. I'm sure that'll trigger a reaction from you. :-)
