13 Things to Know About Me
- If you schedule a DB Backup at 10:00 PM, it's probably not wise to schedule a server reboot at 10:30 PM.
- If there's a sign posted that says tenants and visitors should not smoke in the hall, that's what it really means. It does not mean that tenants can smoke in the hall if they're mad at their mom and don't want to be in the same room as her.
- If I ask for an answer by 4:00 PM, I will call you at 7:00 PM to find out what the answer is. And if I still don't hear back, I will call you at 11:00 EST if I know you're in California so I can get an answer. There's an even higher guarantee of this happening if I'm working on homework and need some help procrastinating.
- I'm not a morning person. Please do not schedule meetings of any sort before 10:00. I can meet earlier than that, but it's highly probable that I'll ask the same question multiple times and not be able to explain my answers.
- I'm a decently busy person. If you schedule something with me and then cancel, it's going to be hard to get back on my calendar. Yes, I'll give a tad more priority to friends and "the boy," but if you want me to meet for something non-friend related, I'm not going to bump a lot of things.
- I keep my work calendar up to date. Just schedule a meeting with me! Don't ask what time works for me; look at my calendar!
- For all my talk of doing my homework on time, even early, it rarely happens. So just assume that I'm doing homework Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings.
- I'm not good at returning personal phone calls. There are only a few people in the world who I will call back right away. Please do not be offended. I'll call you back eventually.
- I get crabby when I'm tired or hungry. When I'm tired, I don't pay attention, I give one word answers, and I don't smile. When I'm hungry, all I can think about is that I'm hungry. I can't concentrate so you end up asking me the same question over and over and over again. Either way, it's best to keep conversation to a minimum. Otherwise there's a good chance I'll yell at you for no apparent reason.
- I like sending thank you notes. If you give me something, I'm going to send a thank you note. It's just what I do. Even if you tell me I don't have to do it, I'll do it. Please do not say, "Oh, you don't have to send a thank you note." It's not going to stop me from sending one.
- I have no problem bribing you to get work done, especially if my client is being pushy. So do not be surprised if I offer to buy you lunch, pick up Starbucks, buy you a drink, etc. Take me up on it, cause I don't offer all that often.
- If I'm watching a television show, I can't talk to you and watch TV at the same time. Wait for commercial break. If you know "my show" is on and it's the only one I watch live, wait till it's over to call me.
- I love receiving cards for no specific reason. Please feel free to send them.
