I love discovering new music. I love introducing other people to new music and I love watching them listen to a song for the first time. I love closing my eyes when I listen to a song. I love getting so lost within music that I forget where I am and who I'm with. I love dancing to music and breaking out into song and going to concerts with people that enjoy music. I love when my friends send me a song and say, "You have to listen to this!" or "I thought of you when I heard this." I love when my friends know my music tastes well enough to know when I will or won't like a song. I love tapping my feet along to a song or pretending to play the piano to accompany the song. I love it when someone grasps my concept and thought of a song immediately, without any discussion.
I love the smell of rain and the soothing way it hits the window as I'm trying to sleep. I love running around in a summer rain, getting drenched and not caring. I love watching the rain fly off of the pavement, and love watching the angles it takes as it plummets towards the ground. I love looking around after a first snow, and taking in the beauty of the world. I love hearing the birds in the morning, because I know that spring is starting to make its presence known. I love driving home as the sun is setting, and watching the colors play across the sky. I love the way the sun trickles through the trees to create a play of lights and shadows. I love watching the sun rise through the clouds, and watching it set over water. I love hearing the wind gently dance through the trees in April, because I get excited for flowers to start blooming.
I love pedicures and how relaxed they make me. I love the way sand feels through my toes, and I love walking barefoot on a beach. I love stretching my feet and curling my toes. I love flip flops and how they remind me of summer. I love heels and how they remind me of femininity and skirts. I love my black tennis shoes, how they fit me like a glove, and how they remind me of my dance shoes. I love stretching my legs and the fact that I can still do a decently high kick. I love remembering my dance steps and how that calms me down when I'm nervous.
I love the smell of bread and cookies baking. I love the smell of coffee first thing in the morning. I love the first taste of Starbucks and the fact that I always have to be standing still to take my first step. I love the way my mom's spaghetti sauce can be smelled throughout the entire house, making your mouth water. I love smelling wine before I drink it, causing my taste buds to get excited with anticipation. I love melt in your mouth chocolate, chocolate that causes me to close my eyes to appreciate it even more. I love steak that is soft and tender and just slides off the rest of the platter with ease. I love pizza with the right combination of bread, sauce, and cheese. I love Swensons burgers and shakes and Michelle's grilled cheese sandwiches. I love trying new food, but falling back to the old basics.
I love cuddling and being held and allowing the cares of the world to go away for a day. I love kisses that never seem to end, ones that make you wonder if you've ever really been kissed before. I love holding hands and how the slightest touch to the small of my back sends tingles up my spine. I love hugs, tight hugs that say hello and goodbye and I love you. I love bear hugs from Matt, especially if he picks me up and spins me around. I love running towards my sister in the airport to welcome her home. I love the sound of PianoGirl's voice, and how it always makes me smile. I love watching TJ think and try to find the right words to say. I love arguing with Clintus, even about the most random things. I love how he makes me defend everything I say, and the fact that I can never lie to him. I love how I can point my index finger at the sky, and the fact that it means nothing to the general public, but I'm actually asking Eric a question. I love that Malia and I can shop together, even though our taste in clothes is so different. I love that I can go to Chris and Megan's and easily hang out with both of them. I love that I can talk to Mary on the phone for hours, even if we spoke the day before. I love that the simplest things remind me of Elizabeth, and that their simplicity enhances their beauty. I love how SteelersBoy tries to keep a straight face when teasing me, and often confuses me because I can't tell if he's being serious or joking. I love that Jack and I can manage to be so close while only talking a few times a year. I love picking up with old friends as if we saw each other yesterday, even if I haven't seen them in months.
I love to love.
