this is an interesting post. i'm sorry to see you are (or were) so confused. although i imagine you have already been through a thorough decision-making process and your question was probably rhetorical, i couldn't resist sharing my two cents ...
1. read a good ethics book. if that is not possible, consider trying one or more of the following: 2. prayer and consultation with wise people whom you respect 3. ask yourself important questions such as "which choice will bring the most joy and create the least amount of pain for myself and others?" or "what fits my character and will most enable me to flourish?"

The question is definitely not rhetorical, and I appreciate the points. Only a journalism major would use the words "consultation", "rhetorical", and "flourish" in a response.
