Random Notes From the Week

Oct 28, 2007 20:07

  • I hit the 1 mile and 2 mile marker 30 seconds before my goal Saturday. That made me very happy. The endorphins are kicking in and I'm on a major workout high today.

  • I was so aggravated with my bra Tuesday. It was really bothering me, and all I wanted to do was take it off. The problem was that I was at work, and while I did have on a sweatshirt, it didn't seem appropriate. I probably could have done that at my last company, but I think they'd kinda frown on that at my current job. Malia said I should put it on a coworkers desk. I'm sure that'd prompt discussion in the office.

  • I broke out my Aldo boots Friday. They looked good! I wore them out Saturday, too, and learned that standing for a long time in them is not a good idea. So for future reference, please remind me not to wear them when I know I'll be standing for awhile.

  • "There's something wrong with your shirt," he said. I glanced down and realized I was wearing my Boston sweatshirt. "It's for the city, not the team," I replied. "I figured we're not playing them anymore, so I can wear it. But I am rooting for them in the series. It's not like they're the Yankees." Evidently I was talking to a Yankees fan. Ooops!

  • I watched "Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Team" Saturday. I always wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. My plan was to make the team, become the head cheerleader, and date Troy Aikman. That didn't quite work out for me. :-)

  • I'm on a break from school right now. My goal is to re-read the chapters and do some of the exercises that weren't assigned for homework. I just have to make it a priority and not slack off.

  • I ran around in the rain Wednesday. That was loads of fun. It woke me up and made me happy.

  • I kept pulling my pants up Thursday. They were entirely too big for me. In fact, I realized that half the pants in my closet are entirely too big for me. It's a good problem to have. I took my pants off without unzipping them Thursday...just to see if I could. It felt good.

  • I dressed up like a cowgirl for Halloween yesterday. It didn't take much planning, really. I had boots, a belt, and semi-tight jeans (they used to be really tight). I bought a plaid shirt, put on a good bra, and tied the shirt up. I didn't have a hat, but I didn't care that much. I've never been much of a Halloween person, so I was really surprised that I actually made the effort to put a costume together. It was a fun outfit. The shirt came down eventually, but the first button started low enough that "the guys" got a good shot. I'm sure they enjoyed it. I had fun people watching.

  • I discovered more new music this week. By discovered I mean that coworkers sent it to me or shared their libraries via iTunes. It's great. I heard songs I'd never heard and songs I hadn't heard in awhile, while discovering music tastes in coworkers. Now I have to figure out who would like what, so I can reciprocate.

  • I touched up my toes before going out Saturday. Yes, I then put my feet in socks and shoes, but they needed help. It wasn't quite as good as getting a pedicure, but that's the best they're gonna get this month. I should probably cash in my free manicures at Rendezvous before they expire. I wonder if I can talk them into giving me a pedicure instead. They're so much better.

  • I am now the proud owner of a dining room table and chairs. My aunt and her boyfriend brought them down today. They're a welcome addition to the apartment, and they match the hutch that's already in the dining room.

  • I fought with my router this week. Time Warner kindly gave me an upgrade, and my configuration settings were completely reset. I still don't have it WEP-Enabled; I can't connect to the Internet if I hardline in, and I'm afraid that if I try to configure it while I'm connected via wireless I'll set something up incorrectly and not be able to fix it. It's a pretty high possibility actually, seeing as I really know nothing about that sort of thing. I know the terminology and what you should do, but I'm not the expert. One of these days I'll have to call Time Warner and make them come out and look at it. I should be able to hardline in!

  • I decided that I want to go sky diving. You know that MasterCard commercial where women are doing a bunch of random stuff while singing "My Favorite Things"? The commercial inspired me. A few of my friends did it a few months ago, and loved it, and it's always been on my to-do list. So I might as well do it. Wanna join me? It'll be a fun, scary, crazy, exhilarating time.

  • I cancelled dinner with Mike Wednesday, which I've never done before. It's so hard to get on his calendar, and I make sure that there are no potential conflicts. He called to cancel dinner but still wanted to come have coffee later in the evening. I told him I was incredibly busy, and it just wasn't happening. He did offer to come down and study with me, but I know I wouldn't have gotten any studying done. I'm glad I did that, but I'm sad I didn't get to talk to him. Perhaps I can get on the calendar for next month, otherwise I might not see him till Christmas.

  • I've been debating taking a weekend to myself and going...somewhere...where I really don't know anyone and just being. I'd like to be by water...preferably water with a beach I can sit on. I don't need it to be warm, but it'd be nice if it wasn't snowing. Yes, I'm already thinking about snow. I'm not quite sure what I would do. Read probably. Write maybe. Sleep. Sit and think. Nothing. This weekend would've been the perfect weekend to do it, actually, since I'm not scrambling to do homework. Ah well. Another weekend, perhaps.

  • I still haven't been to the Akron Art Museum since it reopened. I've never been there actually. And I live here. There's no excuse, really. I should go.

  • They were playing techno at the gym yesterday. I remembered I had a good techno mix courtesy of WSF that I hadn't listened to in awhile, and listened to it while cleaning. It's good motivational music. Fun dance music. I didn't dance as much as I wanted to yesterday, so I danced around the apartment while cleaning. Good times.

  • Mary left me 3 opened bottles of wine. Tonight felt like a wine night, so Mary, thanks for the wine!
