I kinda wanna try out the new Windows Vista. I mean, I really have no need for it, and if I upgraded I might as well get a new laptop (no, I have nothing to support that) but it'd be interesting to try. I read an interesting
article written by a reporter who is a Mac user. He got a new PC, loaded Vista on it, and then compared. It's really interesting. If I had an unlimited amount of money I'd go out and get a new laptop and load Vista on it, but no such luck.
We had an excellent month-end at my client today. I busted my ass to get stuff done and it really paid off. Only 2 more days of that shit and I'm done. I went into the office today to test stuff out. This is my second day of going in to test after a full day of work and it didn't work. Grrrr. Quite frustrating. I think I'm more frustrated by the fact that the program was done, but the client changed the file and so we had to change the app. Now we're scrambling to get things done, and they're getting pissy with us for not having it done. They're right...they've only been waiting for a month...but if they hadn't changed anything we wouldn't be in this boat. I'm also frustrated that we promised that it'd be done by the end of the month at the latest, and it's still not done. Instead of changing the program, we wrote an entirely new one. In one sense, I'm sure that the manager had two choices. 1. Update the program and deliver it late. 2. Create a new program and deliver on time. So we chose option 2. Sadly, we're still late. Ah well. There's nothing I can do about it now.
BTW, I'm watching The Real World: Denver and they're climbing mountains outside Denver. I wanna go do that! How cool would that be?! My legs would be completely fucked up, but that'd be an awesome experience.
And, I might be totally behind the times, but I heard a special on NPR today that talked about
Google Books. I looked for Pride and Prejudice, one of my fav books, and checked out the first
link. Check out Chapter 1. It's totally not at all Chapter 1. Believe me, I've memorized that book, and I know that it's not Chapter 1. It really bothers me. This is Google for crying out loud! They got the book from Harvard! You'd think they could get it right! Am I asking for too much?
