Sara was so very thankful for the weekend. It might have been cold outside, but that never stopped her in the past. Walking outside, the first year couldn't help but grin at the colourful leaves, and how scarce they looked on the trees. They lied wet, across the ground, where she stepped on many to make her way to her favorite of all trees ( Read more... )

"Neat isn't it?" Will commented to his fellow first year, for a moment letting his Slytherin guard slip. When the girl turned around, he nearly ran off, but quickly concealed his reaction. Sara Sanders was the last person he wanted to catch him acting soft.

"It shook off all it's leaves at once," Sara replied curiously, before turning to see who he was.

"Oh, hi," she added, sounding slightly more dreary.

The boy's smirk widened noticably at the girl's dreary responce. "Hello," he said, his tone almost sociable.

Sara raised an eyebrow at his gross smirk. "Fancy meeting you out on the grounds."

"My pleasure," Will nearly spat back.

Trained by his parents to be a decent conversationalist, he continued, "Lucky to have a break from school, the weather is bound to become disgusting any day now." He smiled at the thought.

Just as disgusting as you, Sara thought to herself.

"Beautiful," she added, rolling her eyes to herself, approaching the tree even more so, cautiously, but yet still moving towards it at a decent pace.

"Oh you are adventurous," Will's tone indicating that the adjective was by no means an admirable one. Never the less, he kept pace with Sara's progress towards the tree. At least she didn't appear to be the typical Ravenclaw book worm.

William's opinion could easily change, as Sara began quoting a book she had read about this interesting tree. Sara loved trees. She read against them, she climbed them, and sometimes she even drew them.

"I read that the Whomping Willow was placed here over fourty years ago... look how huge it is," she stopped, staring at it in amazement.

"I don't know much about trees, but it seems like it grew really fast." This girl new some strange things, but he had heard the same.

"That's not in Hogwarts: A History, where did you find that out?" he was actually vaguely curious.

In a sexy voice, Sara replied, "It was in Strange Trees," and then she moved in for the snog....

JUST KIDDING!

"Strange Trees, by Candice O'Meara," Sara turned to him with a small smile. "I don't know, I have this odd thing for trees, and I wanted to know more about this one. Everyone says it's dangerous."

"It certainly looks dangerous," Will was sarcastic now. "I hope you aren't going to try and claim that it's missunderstood."

Sara nearly snorted. "Yeah, misunderstood. And Flich is a sobbing school girl who's lost her way home. Get a grip."

But she was actually really, really amused by Will.

"I knew you had potential to be witty, now I'm insulted," the boy feigned hurt.

Sara rolled her eyes, giving him a small shove. "Get over it."

And with that, she walked closer to the tree, smirking confidently.

"Watch it," Will pushed her back, in the general direction of the looming, dangerous tree. He followed, warily keeping pace.

Stumbling forward slightly at his push, Sara glared at him, rolling her eyes once more.

Then the large branches began to move and shake overhead.
