a reasonably good day
well i believe i've figured something out about our money situation.. if we can stick to the two week budget we'll have about $10 left over.. yay :)
the family and i went to urban outfitters today to cash in the $200 gift certificate we got for christmas.. we got a bunch of neat (and overly expensive) stuff including:
-a chris cunningham compilation dvd (directs videos for aphex twin, portishead, squarepusher, madonna, etc.)
-an asian style bowl set including painted chopsticks and porcelain soup spoons
-hugh hefner style slippers (burgundy and gold!)
-some nice, warm green gloves
-a book of short stories by Kurt Zapata called Forty Ouncer (beer was cheap and life was low!!)
-a chunky "night owl" mug for me
-a trendy knitting kit for the wife
-and four glasses with patterns on them straight out of the sixties
so i'm happy about that.. also tonight i'll be staying up and watching a slew of anime with my wife passed out in my lap.. she made her famous beef chili for me, of which i have just polished of my second bowl.. i love her so much :)
i was listening to my digitized Beck show, Odelay era, today.. he's such a great singer.. probably one of the best musical arrangers of the 90s as well.. i was grooving and doing dishes with my new wireless headphones on if you can imagine that..
only one thing is really bugging me today.. my best friend took my wife off his LJ friends list and i'm not sure why.. she's kind of distraught over it because we love him so much.. HE SHOULD KNOW HE'S NOT AN INTRUDER..
