I own the movie Metropolis. Several versions, in fact. I went to a theatre and saw it on the big screen with an actual organist performing the music score, as well. It's quite possibly my favorite movie.

You have to have a helluva attention span to watch it. Imagine a movie that's two hours and some change long with no dialog of any kind, except what you see on the screen from time to time...
Not that I'm saying you couldn't watch it. You just have to enjoy the subtletes of silent film.
