(no subject)
Well, I got a nudge from penpusher a few months ago so I'd better update. David and his friend Dorian from out of town are asleep and nursing hangovers so I've got some time. In reality, I could post for another 4 hours since they were up howling at the moon all night. Guys..... so funny, so predictable :P
1. Let's see....same job, still looking around at other options. It's going fine, I'm getting my hours but sometimes I'm just not in the mood to solve the world's problems ( well, at least ten people's worlds). I want to get off billable and give myself the opportunity to go back to school without contemplating suicide but I am madly in love with having three day weekends every week! The morale has really taken a dump the past six months there so that's been tough. Basically the big boss made a shitty business decision and we're having to bear the brunt of it in so many different ways (temper tantrums, tirades, slave labor, etc). So that isn't flying with me so much but thank god I'm out on the road most days. Such a blessing and a curse that is... also we don't get paid much as it is but we're spending about $350 a month in gas and we just found out that our health insurance premium is up and we won't be able to have LTD or life insurance now because of the costs (trickle effect from dipshit's bad business decision). So it's these administrative type things that upset me to the point of leaving (hey, who doesn't want to get paid what their worth, not have to cough up a third of their check for gas and get benefits when they're at full time status? High maintenance I am not) but the flexibility is KILLER!!
2. My mom came to visit a few weekends ago and we had a great time. She's doing well and is just right decent to spend time with now. Two years sober-go Mom!!
3. Went and saw Queesnryche at the Big Easy a couple of weeks ago-very kick ass. I haven't been to a rock show in a long time so it was a nice release for me. Gotta let that animal out at a rock show every once in a while-keeps me sane! White Stripes were scheduled to play but cancelled due to illness so I'll have to cage the beast for a later date now. Danzig's coming to SF in November and I'm interested in that. Maybe I'll escape for a weekend.... Got tickets to the TransSiberian Orchestra playing here in Boise in November so I'm stoked on that. Ive never seen them and have always wanted to so I'm glad I could get tickets.
4. Gotta figure out what I'm doing for Halloween. Of course, there's nothing of substance going on here (happens when you have no friends) but I don't know about elsewhere. I'm on call the week of Halloween, starting on that Wednesday so my on call might be interesting. The weekend before I'm scott free so I'd hate to waste it.
5. David and I are thinking about going to Alaska in February to go to Fur Rondy and the Iditarod start. Used to check those two events out every year as a kiddo and I'd love to have David experience it. Way fun. Well, gonna skee-daddle for now but might continue to update on this a little later. Gonna finish my tea and get some chow but for now-that's the trash, fiends! :P
