Comics!

My DC collection (I refuse to ever say "DC comics," because that's redundant- DC means detective comics, so basically whenever someone says DC comics they're saying detective comics comics)

Liked, aka, Those I Would Recommend

Batman: featuring Two-Face and The Riddler  by Various -This is a neat collection. Obviously the Riddler comics are my favorites. For Two-Face, I felt like there could have been a few more older stories. His origin story is also repeated twice... which is kind of ironic, and they may have been on purpose, but it really wasn't necessary. There should have been more variety to his stories.

Batman: featuring Scarecrow  by Various -This is another great collection, focused on Scarecrow this time. Of the two, this one is probably my favorite, just because it has so many wonderful Scarecrow stories. They had variety, and they were all interesting and probably all are in character. I say probably because it deals with a Scarecrow from several different eras, and I'm not sure how much his character has developed since he was created.

Batman: The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb, art by Tim Sale -There is only one flaw in this otherwise perfect arc- Loeb's characterization of the Rogues seems more often to be caricatures than actual, y'know, characters. He's a talented storyteller, and Sale's art really fits the mood- it creates the mood- but everytime one of the Rogues appears, with the possible exception of Catwoman, I feel like there is something a little... off.

While we're at it, let's add Batman: Dark Victory, Batman: Haunted Knight, and Catwoman: When in Rome to that. All are from the dynamic duo of Loeb and Sale, and my opinion on all is the same. Only difference is that Dark Victory is too similar to The Long Halloween, and When in Rome has about the same plot, starring Catwoman instead of Batman.

I'll get back to this list later, since I've only just begun. I think I'd like to do more detailed reviews, too. I'm definitely finishing this basic list, for all the DC books I currently own, but that's an evergrowing list....
