Writer's Block Prompt
I thought one of the latest LJ writer's block prompts was interesting. It asked what we would do if we were suddenly presented with a newborn baby of "unknown origins." I know exactly what I would do--I would keep it. I want a baby. That's weird because I'm only 20 years old!!! You'd think my biological clock would wait a bit longer to start ticking.
But whatever the reason, I do want a baby. I think babies and kids are so precious. (And yes, I have younger siblings. I know what small children entail). I love kids. I want to be a mother. Preferably after I start a good career and see the world. However, if a newborn baby just dropped into my arms, I'd probably be happy to have it. I would teach the baby words, take him/her places, make sure she grew into a kind person, and help him/her do well in school. I would prefer a girl. I would name her Natasha, maybe. Or Natalie. If it was a boy, I would name him Toby. Boys' names are harder!
In the end, maybe it's a good thing babies don't just fall out of the sky. My life course would be set in stone right now.
