So I went back to Normal (hey, that's what I take medications for...). Seriously, I visited ISU last Tuesday to do some research and run a couple of errands. The main thing I found out was that I have a couple of options regarding my attendance there. One option is to take the one class I'm currently registered for and run away at the end of the fall semester with my degree. The other option is to continue into spring semester, taking a couple of additional computer classes and graduate then. I'm currently weighing the pros and cons of each option - the first gets this project done and over with within the calendar year, but the other gives me additional current skills that would be useful - the classes I'm considering are "Object-Oriented Systems Development" and "Building the User Interface". Most likely, by taking two classes, I will be eligible for more financial aid, too.
I'm inclined to continue into spring, with the main decision factor being whether I can reasonably deal with the twice-a-week commute from Chicago to Normal - about a 2½ hour trip each way. I've got three weeks once the semester begins to decide, as the deadline for applying for fall graduation is Sept. 10th.
Any thoughts?
