Thank you for your vote of "present" today on H. Res. 847, "Recognizing the importance of Christmas and the Christian faith". I am offended by the utter failure of separation of church and state that the resolution represents, and by the fact that the collective House wasted time on this when there are so many other pressing issues they could've been using that time to address. However, I applaud your decision to remain neutral on the resolution, and therefore to not take a position either for or against this particular religion and holiday. As a member of a non-Christian religion, I appreciate your attention to the proper separation of church and state.
