The hearing apparently went about as we expected. Our neighbor explained his side of the story, which of course did not match his P.O.'s story, and the witnesses drove halfway across the state only to be denied entry to the facility because they weren't on some list (that no one was informed of before the fact).
The current insanity is that now they say that they'll let him out--as long as he has a place to go that's not his current residence. The problem? There really isn't anywhere else he can go, and there certainly is no better place for him to be. What I really don't get about this is that part of his previous "pattern" was that he moved around a lot. They're supposed to be helping him break his previous patterns, but instead they insist on moving him around?
Sigh.
