Wow. I wish I was that disciplined :) When a book fascinates me, I can read it in 1-2 days as well, but this year doesn't seem a good one for reading ... I've heard university tends to do that to people >.>
Yay, Dirk Gently! A friend of mine has strongly recommended it to me and it's fairly high on my ToReadList as well. I can understand your being afraid of reading The Dark Tower. I guess if Palahniuk had such a magnum opus (well, Fight Club, but I read that one first), I'd be reluctant to touch it as well.
No, I haven't :(( I always look in EVERY bookshop I'm in, and it's never there. I just looked it up on Amazon and it's available for shipping within 1-3 weeks. Suppose I could actually order it and then it'll be there at the end of my Latin course anyway :) Guess I'll order The Gunslinger (damn my "not another series" approach) and Dirk Gently and The Art of War (another book I can NEVER find) along with it ... I'm in the mood to treat myself to something, so I'll go and do that now *laughs* and if I love those King books, I'll read The Stand as well, of course :)
