Episode 6 - Elixir (fic)

Seen

The water felt like heaven. After travelling on the road for days she had desperately needed a bath.
She’d gotten used to the dust and the dirt, but still longed for some comfort every now and then.
Richard had never seen the palace in Aydindril and he had no idea of the luxury she was used to.
She left her clothes near the trees and carefully stepped into the water. It was cold at first, but she soon enjoyed every bit of skin she could submerge.
Her hair needed to be washed too, and she took care of that right away.
She only halted her movements when a strange sound reached her ears. It almost sounded like a gasp.
She stood there in the water, completely still, straining to find out where it had come from. It happened again, and this time it sounded like a moan. Definitely female.
There was a large rock in the middle of the small lake that blocked her view.
She slowly moved closer and rested her hands on the smooth wet surface to steady herself.
The water only reached up to her shoulders and she leaned around the rock to see what was happening on the other side of the small lake.
Her blue eyes widened as she saw a naked woman who had turned her back to Kahlan.
She was washing her long dark hair and Kahlan could clearly see the muscles flexing in the broad shoulders. The Mother Confessor swallowed past the sudden lump in her throat and kept on watching, despite her common sense that was telling her to simply leave.
The woman was also standing in the water, preventing Kahlan’s gaze from travelling past her hips.
It took all of her mental strength to swallow the gasp that was threatening to escape her throat as the woman turned around.
Her finely sculptured face seemed somehow familiar, the chiselled features completely relaxed.
Kahlan forced herself to concentrate on the woman’s face and not look down at her chest.
The Mother Confessor could simply not look at another unsuspecting woman’s breasts. Instead she tried to remember where she’d seen her before.
‘Oh no! Run run run!’ her head screamed as it came back to her. It was the Mord’Sith who had spared Renn’s life a few weeks ago. The red-headed listener was still breathing because this Mord’Sith, Berdine, had not killed him even though she could’ve done so without fearing any consequences. But Kahlan did not run.
She kept on watching until Berdine eventually left the water. Muscles were evident beneath the smooth tanned skin and Kahlan was sure that this woman would be able to outrun her.
Scars spoke of her history as Mord’Sith and servant of Darken Rahl. She watched how Berdine grabbed her leathers and disappeared into the forest. Her heart was still beating rapidly as she returned to the water’s edge. She felt a tickling sensations as she was about to smooth her hair back and turned around.
“Richard! The horses!” And so she forgot the encounter with the Mord’Sith to tend to more important matters.

Episode 5 - Listener (fic)

Listened

„Renn! Get back here!“ The boy was like a weasel.
Every time she took her eyes off him, he was gone. It also didn’t help much that he was able to read her every thought.
Sighing, she left their little camp. “Renn!” she called over and over again, looking for him in the forest they were crossing.
The night was fairly dark and she was sure that the Dragon Corps were still lurking somewhere near. I
t was not safe for either of them. Just as she was about to step onto a clearing, she heard noises. Decidedly too quiet to be from Renn but also too light for being Dragon Corp.
Her blue eyes widened.
There were three Mord’Sith right in front of her.
No mistaking the blood red leather or the braided hair.
She hid behind the bushes, desperately hoping that she would not be noticed. She was trying to silently creep away when a fourth Mord’Sith dragged a squirming Renn onto the clearing.
“What? Are you looking for a new pet? He’s awfully young” the tallest Mord’Sith taunted. The other one shook her head.
“I found him sneaking around and wondered what a little boy is doing out here in the woods?”
A Mord’Sith with cruel icy blue eyes snickered. “So you’re developing maternal feelings?” Her smile vanished as soon as it had appeared. “Kill him. We need to move on.” The brunette Mord’Sith who’d been quietly watching the bushes stepped forward. “I’ll do it” she volunteered.
Kahlan’s stomach turned at those women’s coldness. She was trying to come up with a way to save Renn without getting killed. ‘We’re no use to the boy if we’re dead’ had been Zedd’s words only hours ago.
“Fine. Leave the pleasure to Sister Berdine. We’ve been travelling for far too long without a decent kill. The next village we’ll come across is going to be our playground” the leader of the squad said.
"Catch up when you’re done.” The three women turned on their heels and left the little clearing,so only the brunette and Renn remained. The boy was frozen to the spot, and probably shocked by the things he’d seen in the Mord’Sith’ heads. Sister Berdine - that’s what they’d called her - took her Agiel and stepped closer to Renn.
The boy’s eyes widened. Kahlan pulled her daggers out of her boots, readying herself to strike. “Scream” the Mord’Sith commanded. Renn hesitated but then screamed from the top of his lungs. The sound echoed through the forest, interrupting a few birds during their nightly rest. The Mord’Sith nodded. They all waited for a few moments and Kahlan was completely unsure of how to proceed.
Renn suddenly screamed again. “Good” the Mord’Sith complimented. She shoved her Agiel back into its holster and turned away from him. “Thank you” the listener quietly whispered.
“Don’t mention it” the woman replied. Kahlan was absolutely stunned by the scene.
“No, really - don’t tell anyone. I’ll have to kill you if you do” she continued without turning to face Renn. The redhead nodded rapidly.“I promise.”
Without another backward glance the Mord’Sith walked off into the forest, leaving a bewildered Listener and Mother Confessor behind.
Everything Kahlan had been sure of knowing about Mord’Sith was suddenly crumbling into pieces.
“Had they known that he is a true Listener, they would’ve dragged him to their master like the pets they are” Kahlan mumbled, already trying to push the scene she’d witnessed to the back of her memories.

There was no way the Mother Confessor could’ve known that what just happened would later lead her to spare the life of a certain blond Mord’Sith.

Fin.

Episodes 1 & 2 - Prophecy & Destiny (review & picspam)

Hello Legendlanders, here's my review for 'Prophecy' and 'Destiny'.
First of all, did you know that Lucy Lawless did this introduction thingy? She did!
Miss Lawless was standing in front of a pretty lake, telling us how awesome the show is - but we already knew that, didn't we? We knew it even before the first episode aired.

Anyways, let's get to the first scene...
Isn't New Zealand beautiful, breathtaking? The scenery makes me go weak in the knees...
And then we see the Mother Confessor for the first time. Isn't she gorgeous? Well yes she is. I absolutely loved the 'I can dodge arrows' scene.
I also didn't feel really sorry for Dennee 'cause you know, I had no clue who she was and that I would have liked her to get together with Richard, so that Kahlan can be with Cara. Life is full of surprises.
Now let me take a quick calming breath. -breathes-
-drum roll-
Here comes Mr Abz! Also known as the Seeker of Truth, Deflowerer of Confessors, Bringer of Death and Hero of Kittens.

I mean seriously?! The first time we see Richard, and he is half-naked. I mean, sure, that is an eye catcher but... but... what was I going to say? Oh yeah, nice strategy LotS crew.
So let me ask you this: what would you do if you saw a beautiful woman (like Kahlan) running around in your part of the woods? … Yeah, me too. And Richard seemed to have similar thoughts, 'cause he was all up and about as soon as he saw her.
So would I put myself between said woman and a group of armed, grim looking soldiers? Hell yes!

I liked the whole confession/eyes turning black scene and looking back I can clearly see Kahlan's progress. In the first episode she was almost fainting after confessing someone and later it wasn't that big of a deal anymore.
So let's move on. I'm only going to focus on my favorite scenes - so here is the best one ever.
Zedd and his chicken. Simply epic.
I never really had any desire to see the old wiz naked, but I'll take what I can get (Richard topless, Cara bathing, stuff like that).
So now we've been introduced to the most important characters of the show, as well as to a few minor ones (like Chase, who I've known and loved from Xena, where he was the warlord Draco).
'Kick out the jams brothers and sisters! Yeeehaw!'

Ahem... well yes. Then we have our poor Richie being all sick because of the bad plant, and Kahlan going all HBIC. They meet a Gar, you know the usual stuff. I just saw one passing by my window... no wait, that was only a ridiculously large bird.
-another drum roll-
The Legend of the Seeker is born. OH NO I forgot Darken. How is that even possible? What would our epic show be without the evil tyrant?

Ohhh and is Richie staring at Kahlan's boobs?

In the first two episodes?! Cara had to wait like three episodes until she was allowed to look.
But, oh well, we do not only get foreplay!sexytimes but also epic!fighting. And who made up those exclamation mark words anyway? I like 'em.
But, let's end this review with a nice Richard/Kahlan moment after the epic!fight.

Thanks for readin'.
