Summary: Shota and Cara - always an interesting combination
Notes: nope
Shota moved closer until she was literally face to face with the Mord’Sith. Cara scowled, her hand wrapped around the handle of her Agiel.
“So you want me to do what?”
Shota sighed quietly. Her ebony eyes closed for a split second and she looked like she was dealing with a petulant child instead of a Mord’Sith.
“You will go through the ravine and get the dagger. Nothing more and nothing less.”
“And why me? Send the Seeker, he’s supposed to find things isn’t he?” Cara’s frown deepened. She was obviously not in the mood for another quest so shortly after rescuing the world with the help of the Stone of Tears.
Now that Kahlan and Richard were returning to Aydindril Cara had hoped to find out what had happened to her remaining sisters. She was also rather keen on hunting down Rahl to end his miserable life once and for all. But now the witch woman had summoned her to Agaden Reach to send her on yet another journey.
“Because you are the only one who can do it. Your ability to repel magic is the crucial factor here. The ravine itself possesses ancient magic and tricks everyone who dares to enter it into believing false magical visions.”
Shota gestured with her hands. “The images you’ll see are illusion and dream, in other words dishonesty.”
Cara sighed and shook her head. She wasn’t going to enjoy this, at all.
Title: Queen rocks
Prompt: don't stop me now

Summary: roommates,
Notes: ModernAU
“Don’t stop me now, ‘cause I’m having a good, having a good time, I don’t wanna stop at all!”
Kahlan was singing into her brush with everything she had. She loved that song and she would always sing her lungs out whenever there was Queen on the radio.
“I wanna make a supersonic man out of you!” Pumping her fist into the air she heard the door to the room close, followed by a low chuckle.
Frozen in mid-movement Kahlan closed her eyes for a second, praying to whoever was willing to listen that Cara hadn’t just returned. ‘Please don’t let her see this’, Kahlan pleaded silently.
“Don’t let me stop you.” Cara said, the laughter now evident in her voice.
Slowly, very slowly, Kahlan turned around to face her roommate. “How long have you been standing there?”
Cara was grinning, arms crossed before her chest. “Long enough.”
The brunette tried not to, but still blushed furiously. She’d had a crush on Cara ever since she’d moved into the dorm room and now she’d been caught singing off-key into her brush while dancing like a crazy person. In her underwear no less.
Without another word she turned around and fled into the bathroom. Slamming the door behind her, she leaned her back against it and closed her eyes. “Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit…”
Now she’d pretty much ruined every chance to ever be anything but a quirky roommate to Cara.
A timid knock brought her back to the situation at hand.
“Hey, you okay in there? No need to be embarrassed.”
Kahlan chewed on her bottom lip. She didn’t come out of the bathroom for another two minutes because she was making a very important decision when suddenly someone started singing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in the main room.
Kahlan yanked open the door and stared. Cara was having a ball singing along to the song, quite nicely in fact, while swaying to the music.
The brunette couldn’t help but grin as she stepped closer. “What are you doing?”
“I’m showing you that there’s no need to be embarrassed.”
They smiled at one another and Kahlan felt her heart skip a beat. Maybe it wasn’t all gone bad yet.

Title: Too much skin
Prompt: the temple baths
Type: fic
Rating: PG

Summary: Cara tries to relax.
Notes: nope
“Oh thank the spirits!” Cara moaned as her skin was enveloped in hot, soothing water. Ever since she’d left her Sisters she’d been missing the hot baths in the temples. A quick dip in an ice cold lake or river was nothing compared to a long, wonderful soak.
When they’d stumbled upon an abandoned Mord’Sith temple in search of a shelter from the storm, Cara had urged them to get inside as quickly as possible. She’d made a beeline for the baths first thing after entering and hadn’t come out ever since.
After about an hour Kahlan stumbled into the room, momentarily blinded by the steam. “Cara?”
“What is it?” The blonde asked in a slow voice. She was wonderfully calm due to the hot water that was making her limbs feel heavy and her head light.
“We found some really gruesome chambers in the basement of the temple… there were chains everywhere, and a pit…”
“Oh yeah. The bloodpit.” Cara smirked with her eyes closed. “Memories, memories.”
Kahlan was frowning but the blond Mord’Sith didn’t even acknowledge her any further.
“Aren’t you going to come out?” She asked, crossing her arms before her chest. Her white dress was getting wetter and heavier with every passing minute.
“Aren’t you going to get in?” Cara replied, cracking open an eye.
“I’ve had many delightful moments in here with my Sisters…”
“I don’t wanna hear it Cara!”
“Fine. Stay dirty then.”
A moment later the door opened once again and the wizard strutted into the room. Without batting an eye he let his robe drop to the floor and joined Cara in the baths.
The Mord’Sith wore an expression somewhere between disbelief and disgust.
He became aware of two pairs of eyes on him and looked from Kahlan to Cara. “What?”

Summary: Cara sets out to find the damn dagger
Notes: nope
The ravine looked plain enough. Just like any other she’d seen before. In fact, there was nothing out of the ordinary.
That was, until she saw some kind of lightning flashing up and down in between the rocks. Her skin was crawling underneath her leathers and she could almost taste the magic on her tongue.
Clenching her jaw, the Mord’Sith growled quietly. A sound that rumbled deep in her chest, meant to make her feel a little less anxious. She knew she needed to stay alert and use her instincts to get through this damn ravine alive.
“Get the dagger, she says. Nothing more, nothing less, she says. She should do it herself and risk her own scrawny ass.”
Of course there was nothing scrawny about Shota, but that wasn’t important now. Cara needed to vent her frustrations for only a moment until she could go on. She pulled one Agiel out of its holster, holding it tightly, while her other hand remained outstretched in front of her. She needed to repel any kind of magical lightning and whatever else was coming her way before it tore her in half.
With purposeful strides she walked into the ravine, the natural walls coming up higher and higher on either side of her. Suddenly the air in front of her flickered, and the image of a woman appeared. It took her a few seconds to recognize the face that came into focus only to be transparent in the next moment. It was her former sister Denna. Cara raised an eyebrow and cocked her head to the side.
“Death becomes me, wouldn’t you agree?” Denna said, grinning.
