Songs that hit close to home...
A favorite band f mine, Nickelback, has done it again... They've released a song that is a once in a lifetime kinda thing.. If everyone cared is the song I speak of. It's heartfelt and touching. I guess I'm on this topic because I've always pondered a question... If we don't care, are we really alive? If everyone cared and no one cried we'd see the day when nobody died... All the song is about is world peace. Something the leaders of the world seek, but will never find... No one cares anymore. Even the simple gift of friendship offered is normally turned down. I speak this from experience... I've very few friends and those whom I do consider friends I care deeply for. Even though half of them no longer talk with me... But, I've a reason to care I guess.. I've a son that I love more than life itself. I'd put only one thing before that child and that's a job, only so I could support him. I look at the tyke all the time and realize the world he's coming up in is going to hell... Why? Because no one cares anymore... No one wants to look out for their neighbor.. Rare is it that a person stops to help another anymore. Even with a flat tire on a car... Imagine what the world could be if we stopped looking down our noses and began treating others as equal. After all, that's what this country was founded on.. All men are created equal. And I believe that within this song that's what they're saying... But why, as humans, have we let ourselves sink this low? Because we, as humans, chose to.. But, I don't consider myself human any longer.. What I consider myself is beyond comprehension. I cannot explain it because it's just my mind.. But I am as far from a typical human as possible. Humans are judgmental. I watch and observe. Humans are violent. I prefer to sit back and talk it out. Yeah, sometimes I get angry. But, thanks to those around me, I've learned to talk it out. Reach out to your friends people, let them know what they mean to you. Let them know what friendship means. Remember, a true friend is actually a brother.. Or sister.. And those come few and far between because we don't stop and take the time to cultivate relationships. Yet it's human nature to reach out to others... But I rarely see you humans do it. Only through the insanity of a friend have I came to realize the way we truly are.. And I'm thankful for her... Or them.. Whichever you want to say... But, the time has come to cross a line that no one else seems to even be willing to toe..
